Time for my 2nd race in the GK4 kart series.
Qualification:
There are again 26 drivers at the start. In the meantime, I know what I need to do. Have a good qualification. The weather is changeable. Just before the start of the qualification, the setup of the kart was adjusted. Stress and just in time on the starting grid. This does not stop me from having a strong qualification. Here I set my best time at Karting des Fagnes on Apex blue tyres.
Heat 1:
After the good qualification, I start in 12th position. After a good start, I can maintain my position. I climb a bit in the race. Unfortunately, I had a bump against the driver in front of me after he braked a bit too early. 3 seconds penalty time means I finish in P15.
Heat 2:
I start after heat 1 in 15th position on the starting grid. Again, I manage to maintain my position during the start. After an exciting race, I can overtake a few opponents and cross the finish line in 12th place.
Final:
The starting grid in the final is determined by the results of heat 1 and heat 2. I am in 12th position.
An exciting race, where I am in a constant battle with my opponents. I stay a bit too long behind the driver in front of me. Due to a failed overtaking manoeuvre, I lose a few positions and this results in another 3 seconds penalty time. Unfortunately. A good race where the final result does not match the race I drove.
I finish in 20th place.
