After a lot of training, it is time for my first real race in the GK4 Kart series. As a rookie, I will start in the IAME Senior National class.
Qualification:
There are 26 drivers at the start. After an exciting qualification, I achieved the 24th time.
Heat 1:
My very first start in a race. My heart is pounding. It is also my mechanic's first start. Unfortunately, due to a loose wheel, the first heat was not completed. Every beginning is difficult, and that seems to apply to both of us.
Heat 2:
Last on the starting grid after the DNF ("DID NOT FINISH") in heat 1. After a very good start and an excellent race, I managed to work my way up to P19. Unfortunately, in the last lap, I was pushed by an opponent, causing me to lose several positions and end up in P22.
Final:
The Final.
The starting grid in the final is determined by the results of heat 1 and heat 2. Due to the poor performance in heat 1, I had to start again almost at the back in P25.
After a good and exciting race, I crossed the finish line in P18. After the time penalties were applied, I was officially recorded next to number 14.
Satisfied with this result in my first race.
